- Benefits of therapeutic sports massage:
Increase range of motion, leading to enhanced performance.

-Purpose of Sport Massage:
Pre Event: Short invigorating treatment lasts between 5-20 minutes and is given immediately prior the event to prepare the participant for high intensity or long duration activities.
Post Event: Between 20-60 minutes, promotes recovery, decrease muscle tone and restore normal range of movement. Remove lactic acidand other metabolic waste products.
Maintenance: Restore soft tissue dysfunction that may be present. Include trigger point, deep tissue work, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilisation and specific stretching and strengthening activities.
